»I am not afraid to keep on living ,I am not afraid to walk this world alone « Someone was following her, she could sense it. Kat often got the feeling when she was in New York, with the towering skyscrapers there was always the possibly of someone watching her, not to mention when your father’s a human spider you never know when he could suddenly get parental. But this feeling was different, this was... malicious. She pulled up the hood of her coat, drawing it closer around herself as she made her way to the memorial. This was a bad idea and she knew it. It had all gone wrong since she got off the bus from New York; she’d missed her stop, and not having extra money to double back on her journey, had used her power to turn into smoke, and travel on the breeze to her old home. It was a risk, one she thought was worth it, but now that she felt unseen eyes on her she wondered if it wouldn’t just be smarter to turn around. No!She lifted her chin and set off up the gravel path to the old Mansion, if anyone was following her she could deal with them easily enough, she was a mutant after all. She’d been trained to cope with danger since an early age. The slow walk up the path brought back ghosts from her past. It was the first time she’d been back in five years, and it appalled her to see the place had become so unkempt. It was too quiet, in the olden days there’d never been a dull moment, kids, teenagers and grownups alike wreaking havoc throughout the grounds. She’d spent her best years here, her happiest memories were of life at the Mansion, it almost hurt her to see it so dead. Speaking of dead… She’d been so caught up in her past that she almost walked past the towering obsidian memorial. It was sobering to see the huge list of names, of those dead or unaccounted for. Kat stepped up to it, her eyes zeroing in on her mother’s name automatically. Katherine “Kitty” Pryde. Her fingers traced the carved letters, her lips forming a tight line as she tried to keep back her bitter tears. What was the use of crying, it wouldn’t bring her back. Her eyes scanned the rest of the names, her “aunties” and “uncles”, her teammates, old friends, old rivals… There were too many of them carved into the stone. And the rest? Well, they hadn’t tried too hard to contact the young Pryde, maybe they’d figured Kat would be happier in Queens, safe with her family. But she wasn’t, she was far from it. A twig snapped behind her, and her senses kicked into overdrive. How could she be so stupid to let her guard down, especially when her instinct told her she was being watched? Staying very still, her hand still on the cold stone, she turned her head slowly, peeping out from the side of her hood to see what had made the sound. Her hopes of it being a wild animal were dashed when she saw two men stood there, clad in black armour and pointing guns at her. “Hands in the air, and no funny stuff, you’re surrounded!” The voice was gruff, and she could hear the click of the safety lock being removed from the gun as he spoke. Eyes wide with shock, she turned her body to face the two interuders, raising her hands above her head. As she turned she spied more agents emerging from their hiding spots, she didn’t have time to count the numbers, she was in such a state of powers she couldn’t have counted to 10 if somebody paid her a million dollars. She was trapped, she could turn herself to mist, but it wasn’t an instant process, they’d have a few good seconds to shoot her while her body became vapours. And from the look of the hand guns and the arsenal in their belts, these wernt the type to let her go so easily. “Can a girl not pay her respects in private?” she asked, a small tremor in her voice as she fought back her fear. She regretted her outburst as the one barking orders marched over to her and shoved the gun under her chin, a hand grabbing her hair so she could squirm away. “Paying respects to dead muties, something tells me you’re not an average girl, missy.” He smiled sadistically as he felt Kat shake violently, her fear finally getting the best of her as she tried to stare at the man through his visor. ”But we’ve been keeping tabs on you since you stepped off that bus, nice little trick you did with the mist, but someone as dangerous as you can’t be running about, who knows what damage you’ll do.His words drifted over her in a haze of snarls. She jammed her eyes shut, all training flying out the window as she was held there against her will. Her five year hiatus had softened her, and she knew she should have trusted her gut instinct all along, but she hadn’t. And now here she was, probably going to die in the same place so many of her friends had. Unless some miracle came along.

Amateurs
Loud, clumsy and far too much aftershave to be vets. More greens. This was getting disapointing.
He was close enough to smell the stale sweat from the mans uniform ahead of him, the heavily overgrown grounds of the former X-Mansion working in their favour while they remained hidden...and now working to their disadvantage as they revealed themselves to a lone mutant, A young girl at that. He sniffed the air, his nostrils flaring as he took in the smells of the night. Amongst the grass and the earth he could smell something in the air all too familiar...the scent of fear. It was delicious.
He listened as they spoke; hearing the steady thump-thump, of her heartbeat slowly increase as she became fully aware of the situation she had gotten herself into. He heard the safeties click and the crude comments that several of the other men passed between themselves about the girl and how long it had been. And he had heard enough. He had a mission and these flatscans were holding him up.
Its you’re lucky night kitten
Strong hands reached out of the darkness towards the closet agent, one hand on the shoulder the other on the chin. It was like snapping a twig. The mans scream never left his throat as his eyes locked with those of his killer, his head rotated through 180 degrees. He was dead before he hit the ground. The huge shadow dragged the body into the dark with barely a whisper, leaving no trace that the man had ever been there. The game was on and there were few better players than Victor Creed.
The bushes rustled behind an agent off to the left of the central monument, just a slight crack of a twig breaking, enough to grab his attention. Gun raised he peered into the darkness of the undergrowth, his eyes suddenly wide as they met the reflective glow of the savage hunter. Clawed hands lashed out, razor sharp nails slashing clean through the armoured vest covering his stomach, ropes of intestines spilling out as the skin split like paper. All hell broke loose as the man’s fingers closed on the trigger of his weapon, spraying wildly at the thing that had already killed him, his scream and the sound of gunfire drowned out by a savage roar from the shadowy bushes. The second hand slammed into the man’s exposed throat, closing swiftly on the agents windpipe, tearing it clean out from beneath his jaw. There was a sick gurgling sound as Creeds unfortunate victim tried to scream through his own blood before collapsing in a shuddering heap, his feet twitching from under the bush before being dragged from sight.
Snarling, something big launched itself through the air towards the agents holding the girl, bursting from the undergrowth, arms outstretched, teeth glinting in the gloom...

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e
She had dosed off, little to keep her amused when New Order was regrouping, which of course they most certainly were, had allowed Laura to take five, or ten, she wasn't counting. However, as the feeling of unease slowly set in, emanating from her lower gut, she roused.
Glancing at the amount of sunlight not making much of an attempt to break through the blinds, she approximated it was twilight, around 7pm would be accurate. Hearing a very unstealthy commotion she was instantly on her feet, the yelling gave away just who the perpetrator was in an instant “Lil, we have company” She yelled before exiting through a door that lead to a hole in the wall.
Well she wasn't going to use the front door.
It wasn't their 'usual' time for an attack, but the biggest characteristic of an offensive operation was surprise. If they thought time of day was enough to catch them unprepared, then they had learned nothing in five years. Which didn't surprise Laura.
What did surprise her was the familiar scent that carried on the breeze, aside from the testosterone and pumped up adrenaline of the uniformed S.W.A.T. Team. Her nostril twitched, it smelled like... a big, dirty, wet dog. She groaned inwardly as she stalked the perimeter, of course they would send Creed, well at least it wasn't Wilson.
Her eyes narrowed, then focussed on the girl, if it was Wilson she'd already be dead.
As he pounced towards her captors, she mimicked. Instead of attacking, claws at the ready, she instead tackled the girl out of the cumulative ball of bloodthirsty fur and dead operatives. Thwamping to the ground She exclaimed a small “Ugh” before craning her head back sharply.
Yes, they were quite surrounded.

When Laura informed Liliya that they had company, she instantly moved into action, making for the nearest window, her powers bringing her outfit to fly from nearby and rearrange itself in a manner that it effectively opened itself, put itself on her and sealed up. Moments later, not Liliya, but Warstar flew out the window, adorned in her classic black and yellow armour.
She didn't have the senses of her partner, X-23, but she did have a high point vantage, eyes quickly taking in the scene. X-23 jumped to get herself and another person to ground.....get them safe first! The half Russian mutant flexed her fingers for a moment, before tapping into her mutant energies. It was invisible, but she put it up. A magnetic forcefield around X -23 and the girl she had gotten to the floor.
With that in place, she just kept her distance, not totally sure what was going on. But she was pretty sure, couldn't be positive, but was pretty sure....the big looking dude was Sabretooth. Strange...Lily thought he was dead. Well.....wasn't the first time someone had made a come back.

»I am not afraid to keep on living ,I am not afraid to walk this world alone « Adrenaline running through her system, Kat was starting to collect herself together to make her transformation. The guy looked pretty well trained so he’d probably shoot her before she managed, but she had to try. All her attention was lost as a snarling creature appeared out of nowhere. A scream was working its way up from her lungs at the sudden new attack, when she was tackled to the floor, hitting her head sharply on the tarmac. “Fuck.. owww…” she gasped quietly, blinking to clear the stars from her vision. She struggled under her new attackers vice grip; the woman was like a dead weight pressing down on her. As her vision cleared, she got her first good look of her. “Laura?!” Kat gasped with awe. She hardly expected to be saved by someone from her past, Kinney didn’t look any different since the last time she saw her, but then, that was the healing factor for you. Kat wondered briefly if Laura would recognise her, she’d been a 13year old whining brat last time their paths had crossed, but as the armoured men started to open fire such trivialities were driven from her mind. “Fire at will!” She could hear the hoarse scream of one of the men, and she peeked through the protective barrier of Kinney to take a look at the action. “Oh dear god, please tell me that ain’t who I think it is tearing those guys a new one..” Kat moaned as she spotted the unmistakeable hulk of Sabertooth doing what he did best.

Creed growled as the he launched himself through the air, catching sight of the smaller figure leaping below, barreling into the young girl between the two men, seconds before he landed heavily on the both of them, claws tearing into body armour, the sheer weight and force of impact breaking several rips and driving his razor tipped weapons deep into their chest cavities.
Unfortunately it was before they had managed to loose off a few rounds into the big raging ball of fur. The rounds tore through the coat covering his body, puncturing his skin easily and ripping through tissue and flesh. Blood spurted out mid air as several of the bullets entered and left his torso...the rest striking adamantium coated bones and staying embedded somewhere under his skin. It hadn't even slowed him down mid flight.
With a hungry gleam in his eye he pulled his arms from the dead men, forearms coated in blood, the fresh gore dripping from his hands and fingers.
He flashed a feral grin at the two girls,
"What took ya so long pup?"
After that all hell broke loose. The remaining agents, watching their comrades fall to the mutant opened fire, the of automatic weapons pumping out round after round broke the quiet of the night, tearing chunks from the surrounding trees, and sending chips of stone and gravel kicking into the air as the shots traced their way to the thre targets. Kinney could take care of herself though he would never admit it to her face, and the girl wasn't his problem. Now the agents. now they were his problem.
As good as he was there was no way he could avoid all that firepower, there was only one thing for it. He leapt. Forwards towards the closest group, as the bullets pounding against the shield Warstar had erected round the girls behind him, gritting his teeth as round after round tore through his clothing, biting into his flesh, blood spraying out this way and that as the bullets caught him from all directions in the air, cutting short his almost half hearted attack.
Creed landed heavily, slumped on the ground with blood seeping out from under his clothes, staining them and the gravel path bright red in the moonlight, his eyes closed, his body limp. His entire frame heaved once as if trying to rise then fell silent, frothing red blood erupting from his open mouth dribbling onto the ground.
Sabertooth stopped moving as the men began to close tighter around them all...their weapons trained on the targets still breathing...

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e
As the girl squirmed beneath her, Laura tightened the vice like grip she had around her waist, until Lily had chance to mobilise, she was the only thing between the girl and the gun toting militia. Scowling in Sabertooths general direction, yes she had lagged, but she was human (ish) and she did need to sleep every now and again.
Hearing her own name being unexpectedly yelled in her ear made her wince, refraining from clamping her hand over the girls mouth she glanced sidelong at her and sniffed. There was one thing you could never change, no matter how much you tried to mask it with baby powder scented deodorants and jasmine perfumes, and that was how you really smelled.
“Katrina” She said after a moments thought, “Your father should have taught you better” She said bluntly, scanning the sky for Liliya to make sure she needn't be a human bulletproof jacket. A brief nod to the half Russian was given before she rose, yanking the teenager roughly up with her “It is. At least he's being a distraction...” Her speculation was cut short as they open fired on his shoddy attack, maybe he was loosing his edge. Her eyes dropped to the hulking body that spluttered blood before laying still on the ground “Correction. Was” She said unflinchingly.
“Follow my lead” She said quietly, raising her hands and putting them in submission behind her head“What can you do?” It was a fair enough question, her mother was a mutant and her father was... well he had abilities.

"Well that was a surprise," the Sargent said as he watched the battle unfold from a far, Ryan grunted a response as he flipped the seals in the attache case. "Would have thought Sabertooth would be a little more, well you know... tougher," Ryan grunted again dreading what he was about to do, to him there was nothing more irritating than a bolt action rifle. He glanced to the Sargent, who had only just achieved the rank, he was dressed like them all in night camouflage with helmets and goggles. The soldier were the same, all armed to the teeth but with no experience except what the VR simulation could offer.
Ryan busied himself with setting the sniper rifle up, "What do you think? Reckon you could break it, with Sabertooth down I don't think we will have much trouble," Ryan had studied the files the New Order had on Sabertooth and knew very well that he wouldn't be down for long, Ryan's helmet was slung on his belt and his gauntlet felt strangely tight today.
"Just watch," It wasn't the time to slap the Sargent round his head for being ignorant, as long as he did his job of spotting the targets, he could run his mouth all he wanted. They had sent a stupid amount of man power especially to take down a single mutant, they had been following her for some time and had laid the ambush once her route had become clear. Ryan set the rifle's bi-pod out and turned to the men behind him, "Secure the perimeter, the last thing I want is a knife in my back,"
Laying down on the cold ground Ryan put his eye to the scope and zooming in, the cross hair shook idly with his breathing as he scanned the scene. Gun fire lit the night air and his men were dying at the hands of the adamantium wielding mutants, he rested the rifle's cross hair over X-23 who was leisurely shrugging of assault rifle fire whilst tearing the soldiers apart, their target being behind something that easily deflected bullets, another mutant, possibly Warstar also probably the Creator of the barrier around his target, hovered above the building and then there was Sabertooth who was playing bullet sponge.
It was an experimental rifle that he held in his hands, nearly five times more powerful than the fifty caliber and also five times as loud, as soon as he took the shot he may get one more off before their location was compromised, he was only here to test it so he took aim at his target, had he not done it before he would have thought twice at opening fire at an eighteen or so year old defenseless looking girl, but he didn't think he just did. "Fire," and the gun did.

Well they certainly had a barn dance going on today! Sabretooth was back from the dead.....for a whole ten minutes by the look of how things were going. "Men." she rolled her eyes. Her lack of being impressed by Sabretooth did not last long however, as moments later some hidden attacker fired a round, being stopped dead by her magnetic field. "Sniper in the grass! I got'em!" Warstar yelled, before twisting to face the new attackers.
Splitting her attention between maintaining the field that was protecting X-23 & Pryde, she moved one hand in the direction of the hidden attackers, sending out magnetic waves to grab a hold of anything she could, guns, metal clasps, earrings, belt buckles, rings, combat knives, dog tags, anything her magnetism could take a hold of, aiming to drag them and hopefully their owners into the air. "This crap didn't work on my granddad, it didn't work on my Mom, what made you boneheads think it would work on me?" Seriously....Magneto was doing this like....the fifties of the last century? That was nearly a hundred years ago!

Kat was roughly yanked up by Kinney, her muscles protesting from the force of the tug. “What my dad failed to teach me is none of your business,” Kat said through gritted teeth. Now wasn’t the time to discuss her obscure parentage.
“Never thought I’d see you and Sabertooth working together. What’s next, him and Logan doing some male bonding over a cappuccino.” the words were out before she could bite her tongue, the woman had just saved her life, along with her team, probably wasn’t the best idea to taunt her… not while she was the only thing protecting her from a chestful of lead. Well. Maybe not the only, she added to herself as the bullets failed to meet their targets of the two of them, some unseen force stopping them short.
She cringed as the monster in question was brought down. there were, to eloquently put it, screwed. She followed Kinney’s lead, putting her hands behind her head after a sideways look at the mutant. Kinney definitely wouldn’t give up so easily; that Kat was sure of, there must be some backup plan… Surely?
“I can take the form of mist, just give me the signal and I’ll vaporize,” she said, her voice barely rising above a whisper, Kinney would hear it, didn’t she have superhearing? Kat was already mentally pulling on the frayed edges of her substantial self, ready to change within a seconds notice, this time she’d be prepared to change.

The world of Victor Creed went dark as he crashed to the ground, struggling to breathe, his body spasming on the ground and coughing up a rapidly spreading pool of rich red blood, his lungs shot to pieces. The last thing he saw in the gloom where the booted feet of the Agents who had opened fire on them breaking cover and converging on their position. Even as the light faded from view he allowed himself to smile, a wicked looking grin and showed off his razor like teeth.
Minutes passed and still he lay there unmoving.
His heavy eyelids flickered as the world slowly came back into focus, his ears twitching just a little as they picked up the sound of footfalls nearby, heavy restricted breathing, probably the agents passing his prone ‘corpse’. He could smell their sweat under their body armour and the confidence in their steps, possibly realising who they had just brought down and who they just might capture. He allowed himself a quick smile...or perhaps they had no fucking clue and didn’t know they should be shitting their pants right about now
He could hear Kinney’s voice a way off from where he lay, and the almost inaudible whisper from the other girl...moments before something like a thunderclap made his ears ring, drowning out any other sound for the better part of a minute, the sound made him grit his teeth together something he hadn’t been prepared for, unlike any gun he had heard before. But at least it hadn’t been aimed at him. Without opening his eyes and looking around he couldn’t tell what had happened, the Agents were still to spaced out, he needed a few more moments for them together round their ‘captives’ and a couple more to recover fully before the bloodletting could begin for real.
He’d bide his time a little longer like the hunter he was...

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e
She grimaced as the snipers bullet hit the shield, it caused a short wave of nausea in the woman, and a high pitched ring in her ears, knowing that they could no longer stay safely out in the open she acted. “Hide” Laura said abruptly, one hand darting out to push the young girl backwards, hoping that she would vaporize instead of simply stumbling and hitting the ground. As she started forward she knew that Lil had lifted the magnetic shield, one because she wasn't hitting any unseen forces, two because they had fought for long enough as a team to have their powers co-ordinate.
The closest gunman found his weapon sliced in two, courtesy of two freshly extended adumantium claws. His facial expression was one of shock and horror as she plunged them into his gut, he tried to scream but was muffled by his gasmask, which was quickly filled with blood as gargled up out of his mouth. His partner fired wildly, mainly piercing the soil before the weapon was high kicked from his clammy grasp. X launched what looked like an uppercut at the young man, it turned out to be something far more deadly as her claws went up through his jaw and shishkebabed his head on her fist, using him as a shield.
He was still twitching when the NO agents really opened fire “Get up Creed!” She snarled, backing up towards his still, hulking form. Laura glanced skyward for a brief moment, she always felt a sense of responsibility over the younger mutant, as she hoped other older mutants would with her own child. “Now!”

"Well that was somewhat depressing," The sergeant quirked with a tut, "Negative contact, stopped by magnetic shield," Ryan could see this of course, "Base, we have a positive identification on hostile target Warstar, permission to engage," Ryan called down the radio as he deftly placed another round into the rifle, pulling the bolt back loading the shell he waited for a response.
"Permission denied proceed with primary objective," His commanders voice spoke over the com link,
"Are they serious?" The sergeant may be greener than grass but his hearing was obviously sharp.
"Put a lid on it sergeant, she is a high rated risk, eradicate or capture, and the latter doesn't seem like it is going to happen, spot the targets, He was wasting time shouting at the rookie but he needed a team with their head on their shoulders.
Putting his eye back to the scope he watched the claw wielding masacaress that was x-23 drenched in gore ripping through the men on the floor. Sabertooth was playing bullet cushion, a quick glance towards Warstar was all the warning he got before his equipment started moving on its own accord.
"Cook and hurl the grenades upwards! he shouted to his men as they began to find their weapons floating away from them. The massive explosion and burst of shrapnel should confuse her senses and make her think that her attack worked he thought to himself before clapping his hands which started the current round his body, at least he was safe.
Returning to the ground, with a grab towards the rifle, he set the charge through it so he could steady his aim. His second look through the scope revealed more mess that x-23 made at the expense of the NO budget. Surprised to still see Sabertooth on the floor Ryan lay the cross hair over his target, another solid slug aimed at the young mutant, spider man's daughter, her chest filled the cross hair and he pulled the trigger.

((OOC: Hey Tesla, only saw your PM like yesterday, haven't logged in with this charrie in a while, sorry for the confusion))
Warstar couldn't help but whistle in amusement as the grenades went off, she sure did enjoy fireworks. "I'll give that a nine!" She gave quite the smile, all happy with herself. Spinning in the air she noticed that the ground battle required her presence. She brought herself down, a few hand gestures to send magnetic waves to thrust away the nearest NO agents. "X, moving to stage two!" she informed, it was basically her code to let her know that she was turning into her "solid steel" form, which would bring down her protective force fields.
As she changed however, she became noticeably taller, quite the target and more then durable enough to shrug off their bullets and grenades. With quick movements she closed the distance between herself and the NO, large sweeping arcs of her arms send opponents flying, screaming a mighty warcry to bring as much attention down on herself as possible.

The rain of bullets pelting the force field around them was making Kat’s eyes water with the noise; it was up there with a dentist’s drill for one of the most gut wrenching sounds to hear. Thrown off by the bullets, as Kinney pushed her, it took Kat a moment to realise what she wanted. A second that could have meant death she realised as she started to change form and saw X23 leap forward, the force field obviously broken.
Kat was immaterial now, her body no longer solid but changing into vapour. It was always a surreal experience for her, to go from solid to gas, it took her mind a moment to catch up with her transformation as it took in her new dimensions, she had to think now to keep herself together, so to speak. What Kinney had said, she tried to remember as she began to drift, letting herself be swept away by unseen air currents. Hide? But where?
If the mooks were after her, as she strongly suspected, unless they were intelligent enough to realise they had stumbled on a hidden mutant hideout, which she doubted, then it was best to keep out of their and Kinney and her teams way. And there was only one place to hide that insured Kat could be found afterward, assuming of course the right team won and she wanted to be found.
Using the air currents to her advantage, Kat “rode” through the darkening night sky, if the bad guys could see the trail of mist she had become, there was no way their bullets could hurt her now. The distance between the memorial and the mansion was relatively short, and soon she was faced with the ruins of her once home. She entered through a gaping hole in the wall, what used to be the communal boys bathroom she remembered, a through the open door to the hallway. Hanging in mid air for a moment, she gathered herself together, focusing all her energy on becoming solid again and within seconds she had reformed to her flesh and blood self. With a groan she leant against the wall, waiting for a moment while the floaty feeling left her and she reconnected with her solid self. The mansion had fallen into rack and ruins in the 5 years it had been since she was last there, with no one left to look after it she wasn’t surprised. There were the odd signs of life here and there, she supposed from Kinney and companies residence there, but it was a bleak shadow of its former glory.
Wanting to get as much space between her and the fight happening a short way away, she made her way to the back of the mansion, unable to stop herself looking into the old dorms of her old friends. It was depressing, yes, but with the action happening outside there was nothing else for her to do.
{(OOC: Okay, until you’re all done fighting just skip me ^_^ )}
