((OOC: I got permission to join the thread from Staff2 on the side of the resistance, thanks again))
Chris was watching the television when he got the message. Only moments ago he had been laughing at the animated series but now his face was set like stone. He had gone straight to his room, to get his uniform. It had been a long time since he had last become Toon Town, in recent years he hadn’t bothered with armour but he had a feeling he would need it this time.
Now he was stood outside the door to the training arena, he was late. He had been here for ages, yet he couldn’t go in. It was dark through that door, he knew it was. His fear was sitting in his throat. He stared at the door handle, willing himself to reach out and open the door. He knew there was nothing but friends the other side and yet he just couldn’t do it. This was ridiculous, he was an X-man. The thought of facing advancing armies or facing off against the worlds most powerful warriors didn’t scare him a bit yet he just couldn’t open the door. He knew it was dark, the dark was scary, he couldn’t fight the dark. There was nothing in there to hurt him, he would be safe… unless the dark one came back. No. This was pure idiocy, his team mates needed him. He had to open the door! His hand reached out and grabbed the handle, throwing the door open in a single strong movement and striding in. He had done it. He took a moment to collect his breath before charging towards the hanger.
He clambered aboard the jet and spouted out an apology, “Sorry I’m late… It was dark.” He sat quickly down at the side of the jet and strapped himself in, he had made it.
