There was few things going through Claude's head as he felt a boot come down hard on his back, pinning him to the floor. But those things going through his head could be summed up as "Pain......Great Pain!" Gilgamesh, the little power house that he was, was clearly beyond Claude's ability to defeat in standard techniques, which....he realised he had warned the others about. They were caught up in the slug-fest he knew they couldn't win, and they were being torn apart for it.
Eventually Gilgamesh stepped off of him, as he turned his attention on Renee. Turning his back on Claude was a mistake he'd learn not to make twice. Crawling up with some ache in his back, Gambit leapt into action, reaching for the villains cloak, once his hands made contact, he charged it with kinetic energy before leaping away, so as to avoid the explosion. A moment later his ears were greeted to the sound of exploding cape.
One moment there was progress, Gilgamesh had been hit twice and thrown into the air, the next moment Warstar felt something strike down on her like never before, and she had been hit by a localized nuclear weapon before....it now paled in comparison to the blow that struck her head. The half Russian was sent flying across the battlefield, like she was nothing more then a rag doll.
She was booted so far her allies were no longer visible in the distance, before landing hard, kicking up dirt and rock and anything else as she skidded for dozens of feet, twisting and turning as she tumbled. Eventually she came to a stop, for a moment she tried to get up, but it was no use, her strength gave out and she collapsed face first into the dirt pile her skidding had produced, everything faded to black as she slipped into unconsciousness.
i'm a nightmare, a disaster. THATS WHAT THEY ALWAYS SAID.
i'm a lost cause, not a hero. BUT I'LL MAKE IT ON MY OWN.
Aly barely had chance to get in a quick witted remark before she was grabbed roughly around the neck, and lifted off the ground. She tried to kick out as she gasped for air, her body flailing like a fish out of water before someone took pity on it and ended its life. Her boots didn't even come close enough to his face, there just wasn't enough leverage.
The red haired teen was beginning to feel the effects of oxygen starvation, she gasped violently trying to get a good lungful of air but it was no use against the vice like grip. She clawed his hands with her nails, but that did nothing to deter him either, and she was loosing her psionic link to the man, as well as consciousness...

Renee kept her grip on him and saw the tentacle come from under the mans cape Renee's grip at once got lighter because she at once realized just the level of danger she was in. For a few seconds her mind drifted back to what was said on the jet before they came to the mansion this was going to be a tough mission and that some may die, she just didn't think that she was going to be one of the ones that wouldn't make it back she was so sure that she could handle this. Blinking her eyes she brought herself back to the present. Renee couldn't only hope that if she could hold on longer and freeze him longer then Maybe the other could finish the job. The feeling left a hollow sick feeling in her stomach she wasn't really ready to die.
She could feel the heat contrast with the coolness in her palms and she tried to push against it but the heat got hotter when his eyes glowed Renee let go she wasn't done yet and despite wanting the win for her team she was not ready for him to be the one to end it. Letting him go she aimed a kick to his legs to try and force him onto his knees.
Chris looked around the battlefield from his new perspective; nothing was going right, everything was wrong. Every attack parried, every hit reflected, could they really beat this guy? Was that even possible?
The optical energy smashed Chris directly in the chest, or so it seemed. It had been a good move to wrap Annabel back around him but now his head was hurting too, although Annabel was merely a telekinetic construct, ultimately any damage she sustained was going to take would take its toll on his mind. The energy had been intense, it was virtually splitting his head in two, but unfortunately Chris’ mind wasn’t that easy to take down. If only he had have been, if only that blast had knocked him clean unconscious, what came next might never have occurred, but it did. It felt as if his head split open in a sudden wash of pain as his two imaginary friends vanished from his sight. It was too late now. The rippling air took on its form as the dark shadow was born into real life. Only Chris could see its true form, a writhing cloaked figure with razor sharp talons hanging in the air. Clutching at his head, Chris collapsed to the floor as the invisible being took its first rattling breath, the only clue to the others of what was happening.
Chris was curled into a ball now, clutching his knees to his chest, burying his head. There was a delicate murmuring chant being emitted from him although few people would be close enough to hear it now. “No...no...it’s too late... so very dark...can’t control...someone help...” Chris had slipped, he was unresponsive to the world once this happened, and until something could calm him down he would be unable to recover. In this state Chris no longer relied on his subconscious to generate his powers, his entire mind was dedicated to the assault, without thought or clarity, giving the Dark One all of his potential power, but a lack of any morality.
The Dark One spiralled further into the air, it’s black cloak twisting around its skeletal frame. It let out a scream, a sound unlike any other heard on earth. An ear piercing screech of anguish accompanied by a telekinetic burst of energy, not enough to harm anything but a gentle cold breeze ran across the battlefield. Its presence was obvious now, it could not be seen but it was there, no longer lurking in his mind, the Dark One was free. As its featureless face surveyed the field it locked onto the fight before it, after but a second of quiet observations it let out a soulless wail and soared silently across the battlefield spiralling through the air.
First his cloak exploded, that was an annoyance, then the red head kicked him in the bollocks.....it was the symbolism of kicking someone in the balls that hurt him more. The Wicked Son of The Sentry gave a growl, casually tossing away the woman who's throat he had in a vice-grip before swinging up the hand that held the shield, a simple back hand would have sufficed (you gotta keep the bitches in line!) but when you have Captain America's shield, why not batter someone across the face with it? Which is precisely what Gilgamesh tried to aiming, aiming to catch the entirety of one side to her face.
He didn't even look towards Claude, he just let out a heat based blast, aiming to get him the legs. Lets see how smart the little brat was now. Then there was the latest of Toon Town's invisible creatures. Gilgamesh just raised a barely interested eyebrow. "Another psionic construct? Big deal." He didn't let out a construct to have some construct on construct combat however. He'd just obliterate it with an energy blast. Gilgamesh couldn't see invisible psionic energy, but he could hear the air pressure caused by the things movement, so he knew precisely where it was.
Gilgamesh just brought up a balled fist and blasted a beam powerful enough to level a skyscraper, aimed into what should have been the things centre, roughly.
Gilgamesh destroyed Toon Town's Dark One psionic construct, but when his massive beam faded, it revealed something else! Something coming from the sky, hurtling an unbelievable speeds! It flew down like a meteor, striking into Gilgamesh with over ten times the force of one! Dust and debris were kicking into the air, blinding all for a moment. But as the dust cleared, someone came into view. An armour of perfect red and gold.....Iron Man! Even now the air was being filled with S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicopters, Tony had succeeded in getting U.N. backing to stop this attack. Rescue and salvage groups were in to deal with the downed NO Helicarrier, and S.H.I.E.L.D's mobile forces were present to clean up what NO military presence remained in the area.
"X-men.....help your friends. I'll deal with him." His voice had a slight electronic sound to it, the result of passing through his suit. Only a moment later however, he was knocked from his position, the downed Gilgamesh got took the tiny moment of recovery he needed after suck a strike.
"You think you've got what it takes to beat me? I'll crush you...." Gilgamesh spat back, hate near spilling out of his glowing red eyes.
"No...I don't have what it takes.....but I've got a few new friends who do...." Tony took a deep breath, prepared to say two words that hadn't passed from his lips in years, words that had gone on unsaid for far too long! "AVENGERS....ASSEMBLE!"
