"No More Mutants."
Wanda's own words shifted reality on Earth, but not without severe consequences. Wanda's own unstable powers, combined with those of the Phoenix Force altered the history of the X Men and the world as we know it. A new timeline was created and past history was erased creating a new world to where the House of M and Decimation never occurred. This one event shook the space/time continuum, creating ripples throughout the whole universe, leaving nothing untouched as it altered their reality.
In the new timeline, Jean Grey and the X Men survived the Starcore incident without encountering the Phoenix Force to help save them. Jean with the help of British born Psylocke, and the life energies of her team, helped guide down the shuttle craft to safety. Thus the Phoenix Force would never be born into its human host, Jean Grey, assuring for the moment, that subsequent events would not follow as they did in the former timeline.
Life for the X Men was rather mundane at best. There were the occasional team missions but things were relatively quiet until the day the world devourer known as Galactus came to Earth to sate his hunger. Across the cosmos he had felt the raw power unleashed by the Scarlet Witch and the Phoenix Force. Sensing that this power would be enough to quell his hunger for years, he and his herald, Terrax, made their way to Earth.
As Galactus began to feed, he caused the axis of the earth to shift. This caused major cataclysmic changes for the planet. Oceans receded, islands sank and rose from the waters, volcanoes erupted, weather patterns and climates changed. Many countries were devastated by the climate changes that were brought about by the earth's shifting axis. Earthquakes separated land masses from each other, creating deep crevices and canyons where non existed before.
Many people took the coming of Galactus and subsequent events as an opportunity to overthrow world governments. Governments in countries such as China, Russia, Canada and North Korea, just to name a few, collapsed. Friends soon became enemies. Enemies became friends. The world seemed to turn inside out, creating a mass of panic and hysteria across the globe. The world would have ended there except for a brave group of world wide superhero and mutant groups willing to fight off the oppression.
The X Men and various super powered beings from across the globe banded together to fight Galactus and managed to defeat him and save the Earth. Many heroes ended up MIA. Many non-superbeings died as a result of the battle and devastation caused by Galactus' never ceasing hunger for power.
Now it is two years later and the X-Men and the world have been given a second chance. Countries are rebuilding, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, X Men and others are working with new allies from space known as the Shi'Ar, who arrived to help stabilize the world. In what direction will they go?
That will depend on you, the player.
