It was in the east end of the court yard, a battered mansion to one side and a massive, collapsed Helicarrier in another direction....one was a home, one was a base. Both an injured pride that needed to be fought for. It was here that the Resistance members, X-23 and Eclipse would do battle against the highly trained Poirot and Tesla.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e
After helping Liliya recover from a feat worthy of her mother, or even her grandfather, X stalked the hallways, making her way down to the front of the mansion. Lil was a headstrong girl, and after the reassurance that she was fine, Laura had left, knowing that she needed to be out in the battle, not hovering over her friend. In the hallways of her once home, the scent of mildew was overpowering her senses for the moment, but she knew it would be fleeting, it would be taken over by the scents only found in battle soon enough.
She was correct.
The smell of burning jet fuel was a force to be reckoned with, she watched it for a moment, there was still screams echoing inside the mangled metal corpse, some bright orange flames licking the sides and scorching the shiny metal black. It was an intelligent diversion, some of the New Order troops were scrambling to try and save their trapped comrades, though others were focusing on the battle at hand, those were the ones to watch out for.
Brown wisps of hair breezed over her face as she scanned the area, a blonde woman catching her eye she started forward, releasing the twin blades in her fists with a sharp snikt and a spatter of blood...

Elyse watched in shock as the helicarrier smashed into the ground, then had to duck and run to avoid flying debris from the crash, some of it still burning. Those were her fellow agents in there. She hadn’t really known most of them, but they were still her coworkers and that was horrible way to die. It must have been planned though, because the Resistance fighters in the mansion were coming out and engaging the remaining New Order soldiers in battle. In the chaos of the crash Elyse didn’t notice that she had gotten separated from Dom; looking around she didn’t see him anywhere, just other New Order fighters milling around, trying to find survivors, removing the injured, and fighting the Resistance members who had come out of the building to fight. Not knowing what else to do Elyse focused on the mansion, looking to see who had come out, who would be a viable target. If she could help her teammates by taking out some of these people before they started causing trouble she would do it.
She was removing her sniper rifle from her back when a dark-haired woman came out of the building. Elyse looked through the scope and was surprised to see blades pop out of the woman’s hands. Then again she guessed she shouldn’t have been surprised. This was obviously X-23. It wasn’t hard to get a fix on her, as she seemed to be heading straight for Elyse. The healing factor was going to be a bitch to deal with, but Elyse figured if she could keep the woman occupied, she wouldn’t be killing anyone. She continued to hold the rifle with the uppermost two hands, but brought the lowest two down to grab her handguns in case they were needed, leaving the middle two to either reload or fight hand to hand if necessary. Although if X-23 got close enough for hand to hand combat, then Elyse was in trouble.
Hoping to at least knock the woman out for a little while, or if she was lucky, send a bullet through her eye and into the brain, Elyse drew a bead on X-23’s face with the sniper rifle and fired.

i've heard that evil comes disguised L I K E T H E C I T Y O F A N G E L S ! i'm walking towards the light Adrien was watching from the window as the helicarrier was brought down, cringing as it hit the ground. Well, that was one less thing to worry about. “Faites attention!” he called to Rozz as she ran off, shaking his head at her departing back, always did like to be in the fray of things.
“Good luck everyone,” he said, vaulting the window himself. Breaking into a run, he extended his Bo, which had been hidden away in a coat pocket, one of the folding variety favored by his old mentor. Some of the mutant had already started their attack, and he looked around for a brief moment, trying to see where he would be needed most.
It was this moment he saw X-23, her claws unshed, hurtling head on towards a member of the New Order. Seeing her hurtle towards gun toting New Order members was enough to convince him she’d need help, even if she wouldn’t appreciate it.
The sun was overcast, but the light was enough. The soft glow emanating from his body became stronger as he ran, gradually drawing power from the natural power source. He flicked down his sunglasses, to anyone looking at him, it would be like staring at a naked bulb for too long. That would make it harder for them to attack him.
He stopped short as he heard the shot ring out, things were certainly heating up now. “Normally I wouldn’t pick on girls but.. dat wasn’ a very womanly t’ing to do, now was it,” he said to the blonde.

This is far from good he thought as the hellicarrier plummeted to the ground but the decent of the mechanical mammoth wasn't his main concern, he was more distracted by the fact that the helicopter he was in was caught in the EMP.
It died, one minute the pilot was lining up the mounted weaponry to lay waste to the Resistance and the next there was silence. The mechanical cacophony that was Ryan's vehicle of choice fell silent, and then out of the sky. Fortunately they had been higher than needed to attack, unfortunately the massing g-force caused the pilot to black out.
"Wake up damn you!" Ryan shouted over the dead intercom as he slapped the helmeted head of the pilot around. He got no response and time was running out. With a flick of his hand he opened the eject button's protective case and slammed the big red button with his fist, no response. Again and again he pounded the button before looking up and seeing the ground rapidly approach him.
Ah fuuuck! he roared as he put his hands together.
It was like being punched, by a god, a punch that hits you in the front explodes through your back and shakes your innards like dice at a craps game on the way through. At some point he had spewed up all over the console in front of him and the metal and plastic cockpit had wrapped itself around him, a coffin of dead technology.
When his consciousness returned Ryan was somewhat in awe of the pain and blood that ran through and his body and out of his face, oh which was plastered onto the console he had vomited on. The helicopter wreckage was surprisingly not ablaze which was at least something to be grateful for.
For a moment he thought that he could just sit and rest, wait for his innards to re-attach themselves and for him him to at least get some kind of bearings, and for a moment he did. but only a single moment, in the next he was ripping himself out of his early metal grave with a great sound of wrenching metal and smashing plastic.
He was, for the most part intact, his face only stung a little despite the exposed muscle and freshly re-knitted skin. As he emerged from the wreckage he saw Pike open fire on a charging clawed x-23, her pretty face lit up by the muzzle flair and was somewhat suprised with how well armed she was. The world around him was full of screaming and gun fire. He regained his bearing and his combat sense and instincts took over. Somewhere off to the side of x-23 stood what could only be described as the human light bulb.... with a stick.
The mission was clear so he leveled his rifle and opened fire on X-23, he would deal with the light bulb when he decided to pose a threat.

WHEN I WANT YOU , i t s t o t a l r e v e n g e
Laura suspected that, after the massacre of New Order agents that her and Creed partook in earlier, that this wave wouldn't be under-briefed cannon fodder. They would know, as much as they possibly could, on how to take her out. Even her superhuman reactions couldn't save her from the well timed snipe to the eye, though the brunette did manage to shift ever so slightly in the sights, so it pierced right between her eyes.
She felt the white hot pain sear on through as she dropped to her knees, her eyes scrunched up as the other shots hit her in the body, she didn't feel those, only the jolting of her body as they entered.
X fell backwards, her head lolling to the side lifelessly...

Elyse watched X-23 drop to the ground, noticing that the woman had managed to avoid taking the shot straight to the eye. In the meantime, someone else had started firing at X-23 as well, but Elyse didn’t dare turn to see who it was. She wasn’t going to argue with getting help. At least she was out, for the moment at least. Elyse knew better than to think she would be down for long. But that was what extra bullets were for. She could probably keep the woman down for awhile if her aim held true. And of course, assuming no one else interfered. There was of course, the other mutant who had come upon her as she was firing.
Keeping the rifle trained on X-23, she moved her eyes to glance at the man who had spoken to her. “Maybe not, but neither is coming after someone sprouting metal claws.” She said. He was like a human light bulb; a little too bright to look at directly. Then again she didn’t need to look at him directly to shoot him. Elyse was able to divide her attention enough between her additional limbs that peripheral vision sufficient to get off a good shot at him. The man was wielding a long staff, but she’d prefer to pick him off before he got close enough to fight. Without another word, she trained the handgun on him, aiming at the center of the light using just enough vision that she didn’t get completely blinded, and fired. She didn’t expect a kill, but wounding him would be sufficient.

i've heard that evil comes disguised L I K E T H E C I T Y O F A N G E L S ! i'm walking towards the light Kinney was down, from his view point behind her, Adrien could see her take the gunfire. Exactly what her plan was, he wasn’t quite sure, but then, she was made from the same stuff as Logan, perhaps her plan had been “slash, slash, blood, everyone die” but so far, all she’d managed to do was let them waste a few bullets. And he was sure they had loads of them.
He stepped past her lifeless form, ducking down a quick moment to check the pulse in her neck, just to be sure. It was hammering away, strong as ever, and he could already see the holes in her body repairing themselves. The shot between the eyes, well, that was a beaut, and it would probably take a while to regrow the squishy stuff behind her skull. So he was on his own…
”Merde,” he muttered, rising to his feet to face the two agents head on.
Slipping a knife into the palm of his hand from the sheath at his wrist, a snarky comeback was forming on his lips when she opened fire. He staggered backwards, the bullet hitting him squarely in the chest. A groan escaped his lips from the impact of it hitting his body armour, but it would result in a bruise, nothing more, and for that he was thankful. Blondie was a good shot, he realised, even with impaired vision. Perhaps he should hinder it even more.
“Impressive,” he wheezed, “Now, it’s my turn.” Re-sheathing the knife and dropping his Bo, he thrust his open hands at the two agents, shooting beams of pure light at both of them. His own halo of light dimmed around his body as he used his stored energy, but at the minute that was one of the least of his worries. i've done a lot of things wrong I N T H E C I T Y W A S A S I N N E R ! but i swear i'm a believer words;; 300 tag;; Kinney, Poi, Tes outfit;; www.polyvore.com/eclipse/set?id=16904506 lyrics;; the river by good charolette credit;; i.forgive.you @ CAUTION 2.0

One down, at least for a little while anyways, Ryan thought as he set his sights on the human light bulb. X-23 may have taken a bullet to the face but that only took a few minutes to heal especially with a non-adamantium hindered healing factor.
His new target suddenly became hard to look at, with an arm Ryan went to shield his eyes, This guy is a walking flashbang! he thought angrily as he tried to see his target.
Suddenly there was nothing but White, his eyes were rendered completely useless, but he had been hit by a flash bang before. With a quick flick of his mind he imagined he could see, he remembered the busted wall a little off to his right. Dashing to the side he dived to where he hoped it would be. A grunt escaped his mouth as he landed heavily onto the wall and slid over it. The brickwork had caught him on the side and knocked the wind from him, but he was otherwise ok and more importantly out of the lightbulb's line of sight.
Reaching to his tac. vest he pulled free a gas grenade, pulled the pin and lobbed it in the direction of x-23 and Light bulb man whilst his other hand slipped the gas mask over his face. As for pike, well she would just have to make do. Of course Ryan was sure she had had the sense to bring a mask.

Out of the corner of her eye Elyse saw the young man take her shot in the chest. When he failed to drop, she surmised that he was either extremely durable or was wearing body armor; most likely the latter. He dropped his stick and Elyse hissed as the light he suddenly emitted flashed into her eyes. Even with just peripheral vision it was blinding and she used one of her free hands to cover her eyes. She hadn’t lowered the handgun she had fired at him previously though and she fired again, guessing that he probably hadn’t moved since he was assuming she’d drop her weapon to use that arm to cover her face. Elyse had no idea if she’d get a hit this time; if he had moved after she covered her face, then no. She couldn’t exactly open her eyes to find out, either.
A small explosion nearby let Elyse know that something had gone off. It was too small to be a hand grenade, and she tensed but there was no sound of debris and nothing hit her. That meant it was gas. Frustrated that she couldn’t see, Elyse kept her eyes closed and used her two free hands to dig into the bag she had her extra ammo in, which also contained a gas mask. She put it on and tried opening her eyes, but everything was bleary and she blinked, trying to get her vision back. Unfortunately that was going to take a minute. That was bad, considering that right now she had no idea where the guy she had just shot was.

((OC: Permission from Kinney to skip, seeing as she’s half dead an’ all)) i've heard that evil comes disguised L I K E T H E C I T Y O F A N G E L S ! i'm walking towards the light He smirked to himself, bending down to pick his bo back up. The light beams had worked like a charm, the man diving behind a wall and the blonde one incapacitated. Crouched down to pick up his staff, he heard a shot ring out close by, and the tell tale whistle of a bullet over his head quickly wiped the smile from his face.
He got up quickly, his eyes flicking from the wall to the other agent, wondering who had fired the shot. Through his dark glasses, he could see a shape being lobbed over the wall. A grenade. Before he could have a chance to find shelter, it went off, and for a brief second he was flooded with relief that it wasn’t live ammunition. Just gas. He groaned to himself, the grenade had landed close by him and Kinney, and neither of them had gas masks.
“Score one to de homosapiens,” he muttered, before coving his nose and mouth with the sleeve of his coat. His eyes were beginning to water, the gas irritating his tear ducts. With his left arm coving his mouth, his right hand was free, and he sure as hell wasn’t going to be sent down by some lousy gas.
He flicked his wrist, and a knife slid out from his gauntleted arm.
“X, now would be an excellent time t’wake up!” he snarled through the material of his jacket, his throat already burning from the gas.
With the other man hidden from sight, Adrien took the only option, and ran towards the blonde solider; throwing his knife at her once he got near enough. Tears were streaming down his face, and as he aimed through squinted eyes, he knew he wasn’t expecting to hit, but even a small wound would be helpful at this moment in time.
